How to complete your safety screening

Screening is carried out by Huru, a South African background screening provider with encrypted fingerprint capture at more than 500 PostNet and Jetline e.com stores nationwide. huru.co.za

Why we screen

Riders keep the driver they trust. That trust starts with knowing who is behind the wheel. Every driver who carries the Verified badge on Drv Circle has completed a criminal background check, on top of the ID, licence and vehicle documents checked in the app.

Before you start

• Your South African ID (smart card or green book).
• Your phone, with your Drv Circle document upload already done.
• Huru's standard screening fee, payable at the counter.

The four steps

1. Finish your document upload in the app. ID, driver's licence and vehicle documents. This creates your verification file, and the screening result attaches to it.
2. Walk into any PostNet or Jetline e.com store. There are more than 500 nationwide. No booking, no appointment. Bring your ID.
3. Scan your fingerprints at the counter. Huru captures them with encrypted equipment and runs the criminal record check against them. The capture itself takes minutes.
4. We confirm your result. Huru sends the outcome to Drv Circle. Once it clears, your profile shows the Verified badge and riders can see it when they scan your card.

Your privacy

Fingerprint capture is encrypted end to end and handled by Huru under POPIA. Your fingerprints and the full report stay with Huru. Drv Circle receives the screening outcome, not your biometric data. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

Common questions

How long does it take?

The fingerprint capture takes a few minutes at the counter. Huru then processes the check and confirms the outcome to us. We will notify you in the app the moment your badge is live.

What if something shows on my record?

A flag does not mean an automatic no. Our team reviews every case individually and we will contact you before any decision is made. You can reach us at hello@drvcircle.com.

Do riders get screened too?

Riders verify their identity in the rider app. The fingerprint-based criminal record check applies to drivers, because riders are choosing who they get into a car with.

I already have a recent police clearance. Does that count?

Not on its own. The Huru check is fingerprint-verified and comes to us directly from the screening provider, which is what makes the Verified badge trustworthy. It is quick to complete at any participating store.
